I replaced the straps on my Bimini a month or so ago and already the snap clip has broken. Walmart crap. Atwood brand. Who makes a good strap with good adjusters and clips?

Have you thought about 1/8 or 3/16 plastic stainless cable from any hardware store.

The ones I bought from i-boats did the same thing. Pontoons are not very aerodynamic you know. Replaced the clips with stainless steel screw type chain links. Has worked great all season.

Hey "MinUph", we had a similar issue on our old Starcraft. We cinched down as tight as possible, marked, removed, and sewed several passes across so it could not slip again or break. This, of coarse, eliminates the "adjustability", but we had a secure tight fit for the bimini.

Well its good to find out the same problem exists with others. I have thought about all these options. Like sewing to size, cables instead, and none really ring by bell so to speak. The part that broke is the metal clip. The straps themselves are OK so far but are getting stiff already. Seems like good stuff is getting harder and harder to find. And the adjusters really suck., I will have to keep on thinking about this problem and if I come up with a good one I will share.
Thanks for the help.
