I am going to attempt to install a 6' bimini under my factory tahoe wakeboard tower. I will have to stretch the legs out about 4 inches on each side for it to be narrow enough to go under. I would get a tower bimini but they are very short and are so high up they lose their effectiveness or are so low you cant stand under them. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions ?

Re: Bimini Top

When I did mine i bought a custom measured(by me) one from Iboats and it has been great. I like you wanted something bigger than a tower mounted offering, but also something I could walk under. Bending the legs 4 inches on each side will be maxing what you can get out of it. While not optimum I have to stretch mine out a little bit, then put into the mounts its the only way it would work and still meet all of my requirements. Its a five minute job(maybe) each time out but thats fine I never trailer with it anyway. I also mounted right to the flat(ish) section on the outside of the windshield, I didnt want to mess around with the glass or frame at all.

I hadn't thought about the windshield frame that might buy me a couple of inches :)

Thanks !!
