The prop on my pontoon is getting a little ragged on the edges. Thought I might get a new one this fall and put it on before it goes into storage and save the old one for a backup. The pitch on my prop seems to be correct for my boat so I will probably get the same. Found this while surfing for the best price on props.
Black Diamond 3 Blade PONTOON boat propellers.
These propellers are made by Mercury and specially designed for the Pontoon boat.
These props are double cupped for added performance and these types of non-planning hulls.
Is this what I should be putting on my pontoon? I don't know whats on the boat now but the motor is 9 years old (2001 75hp Merc) and I would assume the prop has been replaced at least once. I've noticed the wake/prop wash (whatever it's called) behind my pontoon isn't as smooth as my deep V fishing boat was. Is this normal for a pontoon (pic below). Would a "cupped" pontoon propeller clean it up? Anyway, I'd like to hear what more experenced pontooner think about dedicated pontoon propellers.
