I have an 86 Mercruiser 3.0. The power trim sounds fine, no clicking up or down but they will not budge. I unhooked the hydrolic lines and tried the trim switches, oil squirted out. I bled the lines, pump, and cylinders completely. However the cylinders will not budge. They could not possibly have pressure still could they? Shouldn't I be able to compress them? They will not budge. How can I get them to retract? Any suggestions? Thanks.

You can also rebuild them. Here is some info for you:

Trim Parts

Once you disassemble the rams (take the cap off) spray the heck out of the bushing with liquid wrench or wd-40 and let it sit a while. Then you should be able to pull the ram out. Then you have to ream the bushing or replace it along with all the o-rings.
