I have an '85 85 with what i believe is the presolite tilt pump. anyways the tilt motor was dead upon purchace, but luckly my cousin is an electrical engineer and rebuilt it ... for fun... lucky me. my question is "what is the procedure for bleeding the air I've worked into the cyclinders out? the unit is the 4 tube (three out the side, one straight down) 3-wire motor.

Re: Bleeding the tilt system

the system is self-bleeding. Just run it up and down. When you run the system up then the "down" air bubbles will get pushed back into the reservoir. In the reservoir they float to top. It only takes 1-2 cycles to completely bleed a system. If you are using 30w in a completely dry system then the oil may foam at first. In which case wait an hour or so and cycle again to clear out trapped air.
