So I found my overheating issue, it still ran a little hot after new water pump, thermostat, popit valve, etc. . I was able to remove the exhaust jacket and the head with no broken bolts .:) :):)Apparently this job has been done before with anit-seize on the bolts ! So my question is what is the best way to clean all of this out ? I thought maybe pressure washer with a wide tip. As far as the block it looks pretty good but has lots of white salt powder. Since I have everything open any other maintainence I should do ? Thanks in advance.

Re: Block / Cylnder head cleaning

A pressure washer should knock most of those deposits off without damaging anything. A mild acid solution and brushes would be good. You could dilute Muriatic Acid to a level where it "just foams" upon contact with the deposits, apply with a toothbrush or parts cleaning brush, then rinse with fresh water as quickly as possible...don't want acid to damage the bolt hole threads. Take yout time and take it slow, a section at a time. Good Luck!
