I drained my block and manifolds on my 5.8l v8 pcm engine. I couldn't find the drain plug on the port side. As it turns out there was a red hose attached to it for the shower, but it's already in storage. Would the drive there have mixed the antifreeze in the rest of the block/manifolds with the water that didn't get drained because of that plug? or should i go get it and pull that hose/refill with antifreeze?

Perhaps they had a drive shower powered by the block drain on the port side . . . lol, seems kind of counter-intuitive to have hot engine water pouring out of a drive shower to cool off an outdrive upper unit.

I honestly can't make heads or tails of the antifreeze statement. Just drain all manifolds/block of all fluid. Air doesn't freeze. I would seriously look into that red hose/drive shower thing, 'cause it sounds like a hack job.

I would pull the red tube off, open all the drains, pull the big lower hose off the engine waterpump, pull the small hose off the thermostat housing and lay it in the bilge and let everything drain completely and wouldn't take a chance on having any part of the system closed.
