Hi All
Need your help.
I have a 1957 Sportwin 10 hp outboard. I have a pressurized tank. 2 lines, 1 gas in, 1 air to the tank. This is my question : How will the motor run if at all if the air line is plugged.
I have replaced points, coil, condenser, plug wires ,plugs etc. I can start the motor but within 1minute it stalls. It will start up again but only for a short time. Where the fuel line attaches to the motor I cleaned out the lines and the air line appeared to be blocked. I have not tried to start since then.
need help in Maine

Re: Blocked air line

If the airline is blocked, the motor will not continue to run. The airline, from the motor, pressurizes the fuel tank, which pushes fuel up the fuel line to the carb. No air pressure, no fuel to motor.

Re: Blocked air line

Exactly what do you mean by the air line is blocked? If you are trying to blow back through the hose toward the motor, it should be blocked in that direction by the check valves in the manifold. Air should come out of that hose, into the tank, when the motor is running.
