Blondes are the safest drivers.

That's the word from the leading Australian insurance company Suncorp, which surveyed drivers across Australia to determine if there were any trends in car crashes. Weirdly, they learned that, as a group, male and female blondes were involved in far fewer accidents than drivers with other hair colors, reports Australia's News.com and The Border Mail. All told, only 56 percent of blonde respondents had ever been in a crash.

And that's not all! Blondes are less likely than brunettes or redheads to be the victims of road rage and they are the second least likely to feel rage against other drivers. Redheads--especially redheaded women--are the most likely to feel rage against other drivers.

"As a group, blonde men and women came out on top in the driving stakes," Suncorp personal insurance spokesman Warren Duke said in a news release announcing the unusual survey results. "But the best drivers of all were black-haired women with only 47 percent stating they had ever been involved in an accident. Red and black-haired men tied for the title of the most car accident prone."
