How and where do you mount the blower motor. A where does the hose go to? I have a '70 V180 S/craft I/O.

I don't know how you did that, but that was AWESOME!!

For everyone else, the blower motor will lie low in the bilge area, usually screwed to a piece of plywood that has been epoxyed or resined to the bottom of the hull.

After a simple positive/negative/switch wiring, check the directional flow of the blower. You can usually lay the section of hose into the engine bay, keeping it wired-tied into place so it doesn't fall into any moving parts.

The exhaust portion of the hose will extend to the rear facing vent on the outside of the gunwale.

This is just a guideline. There are variations in almost all boats, so please...no hate mail.

Your blower motor will last FAR longer if you don't mount it low... you just need the inlet low, so use some of the same ducting you do on the exhaust side to position the inlet low in the bilge. This will both keep the blower out of water, as well as keep some of the crap out of it. (it has to make it up the inlet tube first, so small things like the bobber you lost aren't going to get sucked up.)

I'll have to agree. I forget things like that just due to the boat I have. My blower is actually 12" above the bottom of the boat. I have a dry bilge as well and the blower is mounted in the center of the boat (inside the salon) where nothing like "bobbers" will get to it. I would have to take on 2000 gallons of water before it would ever get to the blower motor.

Sorry for any confusion.

Thank guys. Mine has a mounting flange so I mounted it to the stern vent and ran the hose down between the transom and the bellhousing. That is how it seemed to want to go.
