Being new to a I/O , a Forester 160 Sport 1989 with a 2.3 Cobra . My Blower motor is starting to squeal. Is this blower motor located right behind the outlet vent or somewhere inbetween the vent to the inlet hose ? I have a hard time "seeing" in the engine compartment as the quarters are tight . How do you guys look around in this area without having a young child get in there ! Any suggestions are welcomed . Thanks in advance

Mirror on an extension ... cell phone snapping pictures in places I can't get to ... those are my favorite tricks for seeing in places I can't easily get to. If that doesn't get it easily ... like Scott said, start the disassembly.

Both of my boats have been pretty easy to pull pieces off to get to a pretty clean and open stern.

Welcome aboard.

The flow is designed to go one way . The fins on the exterior of the boat (sorry I don't know the name ,louvres? ) will be setup so that one is air "in" the other will be air out . The blower motor is probably closer or right by the "air out" side , follow the ducting if you can it will probably only be a foot or 2 away

Thank You all Very Much . I will try your tricks . The hose in the engine compartment for the the blower are those plastic type , would you recommend using like a aluminium type hose if I replace them? Maybe there is a better suggestion , Thanks Again

No,..... Don't do that,..... Plastic is what ya want,.....

Welcome Aboard,.....

The in-comin' hose can go 'bout anywhere in the bilge,......
The out-bound hose has to suck from down Low, where the gas fumes gather,.....
