While cleaning up some wiring, notice a wire labeled throttle going to a 10 amp fuse, it is blown

2 wires come out of control panel, one goes to ground block and one to fuse that is blown, any ideas what wire is for?

wire size is very small like 18/20 ga, of course the last owner used 14 ga speaker wire to make connections to +/-, and i believe fuse is too big for wire size and thankfully nothing melted that i know of

this is new to me boat,

Turns out the wire is to power the remote control, the buzzer and trim etc.

Still not sure why it blew, took apart control and wires looked fine

Start by replacing that wire. Not positive on the amps for that fuse, usually when they blow, it won't even crank over, as you found out. Could be you bumped something when cleaning it up, but if the wire was replaced, it may have more issues.
