Blown head gasket between 5 & 6 - would that get water in the oil

I just bought a boat with a blown engine. The previous owner said that there was water in the 5 & 6 cyl. Sure enough, I pulled off the intake manifold & head and the gasket was blown between the cylinders. But I also found water under the intake manifold. A blown head gasket wouldn't cause that would it? Should I be looking for another problem.

There could be other problems yes, but that would definetly give you your leak in those cylinders.

It didn't appear that the head gasket break connected to the water jacket holes. Still would water get in to cylinders?

Yes and it could also work its way back up into the intake manifold.

So, would you think that I could just clean it up, slap on a new head gasket, bolt it up, and go?

The reason the owner thinks the head gasket blew was because his impeller went bad & engine overheated.

And how do I clean up all the water out of the oil? Seafoam? I appreciate the help.

when your engine runs hot enough to blow your head gasket a lot of times it also cracks your heads clean your heads up good and look for cracks ..check your engine block also but it's usualy your heads that crack.... to clean your oil you will have to change oil use the cheepest oil you can find ..when you start your moter bring it up to temp. make sure all is good then cahnge your oil again with a good oil ...you may still have a little milk shake left in oil but engine heat will burn that out ..change it a again after a few hours

Hey, I found one of the water seals WERE broken, leaking water into the cylinder. It was a pain, but I cleaned the head gaskets with 3m plastic scotch pads that bolted onto my drill. Everything is nice & shiny. I bought a pair of used heads on eBay for $120. Bolting everything back together tonight.

Thanks for your help.
