does anyone else have the same engine with similar observation? Feul/oil ratio is 50:1, engine seems to be in good running order with lots of power, not missfiring or running rough. I notice when skiing behind boat, a small amount of blue smoke out exhaust holes, steady but minimal. This normal or perhaps carbs need further adjusting? Or early sign of other problems? ...Chris

Sound as if your motor is running perfect. Smoke is good.

had the same motor ('70 model), and exhaust normally comes out of the two ports on the leg just under the powerhead -- a periodic spray/mist of cooling water is also normal(a bypass, as I recall). If the smoke is really heavy, you might be running a little rich (richer than a 50:1 gas/oil mix, or carb adjustments on the rich side.)
