another newbie to this great forum, who could do with advice.

I am interested in a 17 bluefin sportsman, looks good condition, comes with a 97 80hp Yamaha, low hours, 2005 9.9 2str Yamaha kicker, good galv trailer, does anybody have a ballpark figure for how much this is worth, there is no canvas with it.

Are they any good in the salt, do they have positive floatation etc any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks

I had a 19' Blufin sportsman. I sold it as fast as I could.

ok, they are the the same basic hull, i only paid $500 for my hull and trailer, and equiped it for a certain purpose. what you are paying for is the power train on that boat. the Yammy's are expensive, and worth far more than the hull. to be honest the kicker is probably worth more resale than the hull itself. look a around and see what the engines are going for, add $1,000 to 1,500 for the hull and trailer.

That is what I was thinking, say 1800 can$ for kicker maybe 2000 for 80 yam
and 1500 for boat and trailer. I see yours is a centre consol, what are they like when it gets a bit rough our there, or are they more of a calm day boat only?
did yours come with positive floatation?

Thanks again for all your help, appreciated.

yes in the first pic, in the cockpit area you can see the foam on each side of the control tunnel. it was an original center console, but had a huge console. i wanted the small console as to not waste floor space. they are just like capt quinns. it rather likes rough water, very little spray over the rails. i have a pedistal seat at the console, brace my legs and ride the waves. a while back i hit a rouge wave, at wot, an the boat went air borne, what a rush, it has a 90hp Johnson and runs out at about 45mph.
