A 14' boat should handle a 10 hp.

If you are worried about weight.

Get longer a longer hose for the fuel tank and lengthen the battery cables for your trolling motor.

This way you can move them forward.

I have a Lowe 14' Jon boat. I weigh right at 300# and I ran some wires to the front of the boat for trolling motor and bought some gas line hose and did the same with my 6 gallon tank for a 9.9. It works fine.

It will work fine. I have a 14' jon about the same width. It is rated for a 20 HP. I have an old '57 7.5 on it and it works fine. I did lengthen my trolling motor cables soe I could move the battery to the middle of the boat. I still keep the pressure style gas tank in the back. I will not mention how much I weigh, but it is a bit more than spinnerbait. Check for a capacity plate on the inside of the boat somewhere. Unless it is really old, it will let you know the capacity rating.
