Yeah oncebitten, Grafton once was a nice town. Well I won't be able to make Sep. 9th; I will be out camping and bringing the kids tubbing. I like camping where I can beach my boat right at my camp site and be the only boat on the lake. I have a 16' starcraft project I'm doing now for my father in-law and then maybe after I would like to take on a small self built project.

Yes, for those interested in attending our 2nd Annual New England Amateur Boat Builders Messabout, here's a thread about it.

It's going to be held on September 9th from noon till 6 or so.

Woody20,

It's a lot of fun starting with a pile of lumber and ending up with boat of your own. Definately go for it, and if the kids are old enough to help, you'll be building memories that will last them forever.

I know what you mean about being able to beach your boat and hang out.

What do you mean Grafton USED to be a nice town... micro-mansions getting you down? Open spaces going bye-bye? Traffic congestion not appealing? If that's what you mean, I get it.

Yeah you hit the that right on the nail head.

Yeah after this project I would love to take on a self built boat, just can't pick one.

That starcraft looks like a fun boat, but I know absolutely nothing about working with aluminum. I have a buddy who welds, that's the guy I go to for anything requiring metal work.

Maybe I'll take that up next.

yeah welding is an art not a job thats why I haven't learned it. Might be fun, I always see the after school programs "learn to weld"
