Boat Cover Selection - "Transport worthy"

I need some advice from other boat cover owners/manufacturers...

I'm wanting to get a high quality boat cover for my Crestliner Superhawk (walk thru windshield) that will work well while towing it down the highway at 60+ mph. I recently trailed an Alumnacraft that had a perfect fitting cover that didn't move a bit at 60. My local upholstery professionals are giving me differing advice both saying that each is quality and designed to travel down the highway. My primary concern is figuring out whether I have a cover that also includes support poles that include vents or one that doesn't have support poles.... Since I garage my boat when it's not in use, I'm strictly looking at this as to how it will tow down the highway. I understand that if my boat sat out everyday, the poles would allow a more tent like water shedding approach. I'm thinking that the poles could waver or fall down during transport and then cause the cover to flop around.

Any feedback is appreciated!!!

Nothing beats a custom cover.

However, iboats carries the best selection of covers I've ever seen.

Re: Boat Cover Selection - "Transport worthy"

I've got a Classic Accessories StormPro cover for my bowrider that I've been very happy with. My boat sits out in the driveway most of the time and so I've made my own poles to assist it in keeping water and/or snow from pooling; the one that came with it wasn't very good. The cover itself is, though. It's got vents in the aft portion to keep the water vapor from accumulating inside and I've cruised down the highway many a time at 60 MPH without any problems. The only thing I've done extra is I have a folded tarp I throw over the boat's windshield so its sharp edges don't tear the cover.

I have this specific cover: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MS8LIW

It currently sells for $117 in my size (Model C) and it covers the boat all the way from the bow to over the rear swimmer's ladder.

Re: Boat Cover Selection - "Transport worthy"

I purchased a Triton 600 cover for my boat. Its durable and is perfect for when I need to tow my boat while traveling, even on highways when I'm traveling at fast speeds.

Another plus about the cover is it protects against heat and UV rays. I've had problems with fading before, so the cover helps protect against it.

I purchased the cover from Empire Covers.

Hope this helps!

we have 2 boats we trailer a lot.

we have custom **** pit covers for both. one uses 3 adjustable polls the other none.

as the canvas shrinks and stretches the polls are nice to take up slack.

that said you can add poll with a reinforcement patch and grommet quit easily if you need them.

start with out and add on if you need to
this is the one with out. hope you can see enough of it in spite of the snow
