Howdy all -

Anyway I am in the market for a new boat for my 15'3" Scout. I need to get a cover for it. My experience with covers in the past have been rather -so/so. They don't fit so well, and pool water due to the improper fit.

Any of you folks out there have recommendations? I don't need a cover for towing, just for sitting in the driveway. One day I may moor the boat down at the harbor, so any cover that fits tightly for mooring would be cool.

Thanks in advance

Yes I have checked iboats as well as other sites, and they all seem "similar" which is why I am looking for real "recommendations" from folks out there.

I can't help you there. My cover came from Gambler and it is boat specific for mine.

Re: Boat Cover Suggestions

I went to my local tent and awning guy to make a custom fit cover. Far better than the one size fits all, the price was a little more than a pre-made one but you get what you pay for and it fits perfect first time, no monkeying around. They only had my boat for three days and did an awesome job. Getting it done local is nice, any problems it's just minutes away, no shipping back and forth hassles.

Just my two cents.

Have you thought about making it yourself. If you know someone that knows how to sew they can help you get started. Running a sewing machine is not exactly rocket science but it does take one that can handle the material you use. Here's mine. It's four years old and travels thousands of miles a year at freeway speeds. I made the cover for my previous boat that is now 11 years old and belongs to my daughters family. It too looks pretty good yet.

Silvertip, that's a nice boat cover. I like the way the snaps are enclosed.

That is a very nice cover indeed! Good job.

Being in Santa Cruz there has to be someone who can make a good cover for it. I emailed Scout and they had no recommendations because my "boat is so old". Oh well, I guess 10 years is "old".

Thanks

Jack
