I'm looking into a custom boat cover sold by iboats. I know sunbrella is the top choice but its a bit out of price range. I really prefer custom over semi-custom. Can anyone comment on the other materials and how they hold up?

Hows the water resistance?

Thanks in advanced.

I had good luck with the light grey Sharkskin Supreme SD on my last boat if that is an option for the cover you are looking at. The cover on my current boat is Sunbrella (factory cover) and it does perform very well, but I think the Sharkskin worked just as well. Don't know about the durability of either since my boat is only sitting outside covered about 7 days a year, otherwise it is in the garage.

I second the Sharkskin product. My last bat`s cover was made of it. Seemed to hold up well and shedded water just fine and generally a little less expensive than Sunbrella. The only drawback I have noticed is that it does not breath as well as Sunbrella fabric.
