Hey Everybody,

The other week I just got my new to me boat, actually it's the replacement for my other boat that was taken out by a semi truck.
The boat is a 1995 Lund Tyee Signature Series, so as it sounds it's kind of a limited edtion sort of boat. Any way, some of the decals have been scratched and beat up, I can no longer get the exact decals from Lund. I would like to keep it as original as possible so here's my question - Can take a picture with measurements and go to someplace like a sign company or a graphics company and have them duplicate the graphic? I'm not talking about the word LUND or any thing like that as that would probably be a copy right issue, I'm just looking at the decorative graphics.
Or, would any body know of a place that could replicate the factory decals on my boat? Is it leagal?

Thanks for your input.

Yes you should be able to get them redone locally by a sign maker or someone that does vinyl letter. Talk to them first to find out what they need to duplicate them.

I wouldn't worry about legalities with this stuff. Its your boat...put whatever you want on it. As long as you are not making money solely on the "Lund" name they don't care.

Thanks!! Yeah I wouldn't think Lund or any other boat maker for that matter would care if I duplicated the graphics they put on there boat 15 years ago. Interesting point on the "Lund" name though, I hadn't thought of that.
Now we'll see what kind of money it takes to have graphics made.

Re: Boat Decals

Awsome, thanks a bunch!!! I'm going to email them right away. Now what would be really cool is if they have all the decorative decals as well as the name.
I called a local Fast Signs place and the lady said that they could duplicate about anything. But if the vinylapproach site has the decals, or has made them already they might be cheaper.
Man, I was really afraid that I was not going to be able to get or even duplicate the factory decals and I was going to have to do something different, such is not the case.
Thanks again for the info!

This site was hard to find, I found it a month ago but didn't remember the name, took half an hour to find it again. I haven't ordered from them but intend to because they have the authentic Sylvan decals which would probably have cost a fortune to have made. If you order from them please let me know how it goes and I'll do likewise.
