I just purchased a 19' '85 Sea Ray Seville with a 3.0 Merc. 140 HP I/O. I am not new to boating, but this is my first I/O i have owned. Just wanted to know of any maintenance tips for the Stern Drive or engine. What should I do after every boating trip...weekly...monthly...yearly? Anything at all, please let me know. I live in michigan, so I am obviously aware of winterization.

Winterizing is the biggie. Oil & filter changes, greasing the gimbal bearing and pivots, and inspecting and tensioning V-belts are other things that come to mind. But otherwise it's not that much different than maintaining a large outboard. Most maintenance in freshwater is annual. Checking oil level, gearlube level, and power steering fluid frequently is good practice.

I was also wondering, If I keep my boat inside a garage that is heated in the winter, do I still need to winterize? Thanks

I guess for starters, here is a link to a 2000 Owners Manual, while it may be newer than yours, the maintenance schedule is the same.
Here is a link on How To Winterize, then in the spring, try something like THIS and you should be set for every season.
