boat is a 96 lund tyee 1850. Previous owner replaced floor board under drivers seat. have not really looked at it yet, but after reading a bunch of posts, was wondering if this boat would have foam under the floor. the boat doesn't appear to leak a drop, but cover is ripped and i'm sure water was/is getting in that way. any info would be appreciated. thanks.

I believe it would, being modern and under 22'. A soft floor that was partially repaired is another great indicator that water is being held against the bottom of the deck, ie. by foam. Tear it up, tear it out, and enjoy the new boat when you are done!

Yes it does. Pulled about 300 lbs of wet foam from my 1999 Lund.

so what do people use for new foam? is it a necissity, or can it be deleted? how hard is it to get the floor out?

You can buy two part pour-in foam, but most (including myself) use regular blue styrofoam typically used for insulation, and cut to fit.

The floor in Lund's are pretty easy to pull up. I've pulled a couple different models and they were very straight forward. Front decks are bolted with access to the nuts inside the compartments. Lower deck is screwed down.

so do i have to pull anything other than the seats and doghouse to remove the floor, or is that it? sorry, i am at work and can't go look at the boat yet.
