Boat Finish Is Getting Dull.

I love my boat like all of you but the paint is kinda dull and id like to bring up the finish without the cost off getting it painted. Is there a product I can use to bring up the finish on on my boat. It's a 15 foot "WHITE" Mark150 image. <br /><br />Thanks <br /><br />LAKERJOE

LakerJoe,<br /> Try some 3M Fiberglass cleaner and wax.They also make fiberglass restorer.The latter has fine abrasive for heavily oxidized boats.Can be applied by hand or polisher.Don't forget to wear a respirator(mask).

I have to second REEL APEAL,<br />I have used 3M restorer on my boats in the past and it has brought them back from the dead!!

You can pick it up at Wal-Mart in sporting goods in the boat section.

Marine Penetrol only 10 bucks, very little elbow grease, lasts the season. Brightens faded colors, restores luster.....I swear by it.

Hi guys, <br /><br />My gelcoat was horrid.. very very oxidized.. I decided it was a lost cause and that I would paint the whole boat in the future..<br /><br />But, I decided to do everything else first.. so I got some normal cut and polish (car stuff.) and gave the Gelcoat the once over..<br /><br />I was truely astonished at the results..<br />I took ten years off the boat, the gelcoat looks like new almost.. and its been sitting in the sun for 2 months since then and it still looks fantastic.. and the wax portion of the equation must have mostly disappeared by now, because I wiped a section down with prepsol and after drying it still looks great..<br /><br />go figure.. maybe they take cut and polish, put a marine label on it and tripple the price..<br />who knows..<br /><br />rgds<br /><br />Franki

My finish is a bit dull, but I am more concerned with the scratches it has. Does the 3M restorer take out the scratches, or should I try some cut and polish stuff like Franki used and then go over that with the 3M restorer? <br /><br />Gettin Warmer Every Day!
