Any ideas on how and materials to make guide ons. I have a 14' long 48" wide
flat bottom aluminum boat. I don't have any pics of boat or trailer but will try to get some. If anyone could post pics of their set ups that would be great.
Thanks

Re: Boat guide ons

There are a few types of guide-ons. It just depends how much work/money you want to invest.

Here are some photo examples:

Roller type:

Verticle shaft type (although you can make the vertical into rollers with some sealed bearing):

For a light aluminum boat, all you need is some 3/4" or 1" galvanized pipe with some PVC slid over top to protect the boat.
You can either bolt it right to the trailer direct with flange fittings or bend and weld. I prefer not to weld on a galvanized trailer though.

If you assemble them from straight pipe and fittings be sure to make sure they can't move or loosen. I drilled and cotter pinned the elbow joints on mine.
