Pin came out of boat side. I the part sold as a pigtail that you splice in, or is it a home run usually from the helm to the plug? Also, haven't found it on Iboats yet, do they source it? thank you for the help.

Engine is still out, doing the rear mounts. I need to look at the connector and find out what number pin, I guess worst case I can bypass the harness and direct wire what is needed. Most likely that is what i will do for this season, and next winter, find a harness and do a full rewire.

Pin 7 yellow/red Neutral safety to secondary solenoid. Bypassing the plug for the summer. Will redo the boat side this winter.
So question, remains, How is the boat side harness sold?? is it just a tail, or is it a complete harness with ends already on for the instrument cluster, Ignition switch ..etc.

Bondo, thanks, on that subject. re: 1981... It seems that parts are starting to dry up on boats pre 1983. Is Merc, and the aftermarket suppliers (Sierra, GLM, etc) stopping production on parts older than 1983s??

Nope,.... not that I've noticed, but wirin' harnesses aren't exactly a common replacement part in my experience either,......

In yer case, I'd probably just do a permanent repair on what you've got,......

That cannon plug only gets unplugged when pullin' the motor,....
