Boat history reports

I'm in the market for a newer,larger, higher quality boat than I have now and am actively looking at several boats. I purchased a subscription to "boathistoryreport.com" and ran several reports. Is there a better boat history report than that one. I was disappointed with the lack of information that I'm used to when running "carfax" on vehicles. One boat was a 2000 Regal in Illinois and other than verifying the hull ID and brand and year and "no damage" and "no accident" it showed nothing as to title transfer and registration renewal or anything else. One Wisconsin boat that is a 1998 Crownline only showed a 2016 and 2019 renewal nothing else besides the generic "no accident" and "no damage". Is there a better report out there on the market? Im ready to ask for my money back on this one.

To be honest, I'd be pretty surprised if a "boat report" of any kind really told you much. My experience is that the things a boat report might catch - mostly wrecks and "incidents" on the water - are the the lesser of your concerns. What typically beats a boat up is how it's stored, maintained and cared for. None of which I would think a report would catch.

Otherwise, no - I don't know of anything.

What are you expecting to learn? The best maintained boats will usually never see a dealer again after it rolls off the lot the first time. (a meticulous owner doesn't enter records into boathistoryreports)
