Does anyone know if making a claim against the boat insurance can cause the auto rates to go up? Do these even show for the auto insurance as past claims?

Do you have your boat insurance thru the same company as your auto insurance? If so probably for the boat insurance policy not for the auto portion but who knows they can just raise your rate because they want to

No, separate companies. When you start a new auto policy they ask you about your past claims, I'm wondering if this would be counted against those claims or not.

There is a nationwide database of insurance claims called CLUE, I think. Comprehension loss underwriting something something.
There are no secrets anymore. Any claim you have on any type of a vehicle is logged, and that is used to evaluate your level of risk to a carrier.

So who’s your boat carrier my previous boat carrier literally doubled my boat insurance with no loss reported on my end. I found the same coverage and more for a substantial savings with progressive.
