Okay, first off, when I push in that black button on my throttle lever to put it in neutral, should I still be able to adjust the engine's throttle?

Secondly, how much torque does the prop nut usually take? I don't thik that its on tight enogh? Can I use an impact?

I know cars, but just making sure boats are the same. When I shut it off one of the times, it diesled for quick second, kicked over like twice, what should I look for?

Also, it stumbled a little bit when I gave it gas before it would throttle up (I didn't throttle up really high, just seeing if it responds.) It hasn't really been ran in awhile, could it be carb? Fuel?

Re: boat is working, a few questions.

1. Yes
2. 50 ft lbs. then tighten till slots for locking tabs line up.
3. When that happens, restart the engine to make sure water hasn't gotten into the engine. Check your idle speed. Anything over about 700 rpm will cause them to diesel. Could also be lean, timing, fuel. hard to say exactly.
4. Another lean possibility. Carb idle mixture correct?????

if you have the right manual, it should be in there.

If the book says start at 1 1/4, start at 1 1/4. It is just a starting point not the final tune. You'll need to use a tach and vacuum guage to find the happy spot.
