Anyone have any pointers as to how to go about a proper repair on the fiberglassed in mounts for an inboard engine? Looks like the did a patch job before where the fiberglassed in mount cracked. I went to put another engine in and the lag bolts on one side are good and on the other side one of them strips through...

Do they sell kits for a through bolt mount on either side? I have had a few cabin cruiser with through bolt mounting and was curious if there's something similar for my boat.

Sounds like the wood is rotten. The only fix is to cut out all of the rot and replace it. It's likely to snowball into most of the stringers and transom.

Make a couple of test drills. Most likely the motor mounts are rotten, the stringers they are sistered up to are probably rotten too. Also check the transom

One of the screws came out with compressed wood pulp. I think it may have been repaired but with some low quality wood.

Is it a separate block of wood that's fiberglassed in alongside the stringer?
