Ok its that time of year to register boats, not sure how other states do it but here in washington all registered boats expire June 30th, no matter when you buy itm or renew it.
I get my notice in the mail and glances and saw the fee was 25.25 not bad i can handle that. But here is the break down ugh, yet we still have a weed problem at most lakes.
3.00 Filing fee
10.50 license fee (to actually license the boat)
5.00 Water Craft excise tax
0.75 License Service fee (supports computer systems)
1.50 Aquatic Invasive Species Fee
1.00 Aquatic Algea Fee
0.50 Aquatic Invasice Species Enforcement Fee
3.00 Derelict Vessel Removal Fee
Total 25.25 and they want me to donate to the Historic Ship Foundation on top of that.
Anyone elses state this bad for license fees. Mines an older boat if you have a newer one its more they base the fees on year except the filing fee, computer fee.
My trailer actually costs more than the boat to register, the tax on the trailer besides the excise, license fee is it as an aquatic weed tax too.
