2 guides only,with the support beams ending at transom,guides need to be to either side of center of hull by only a couple of feet only,any more = hull stress.you do not want bottom of boat to hit the supports that run perpendicular to the guides..tear up the hull,also adjust so there is a slight fall front to rear to allow for drainage.When i install lifts,i mark the PVC guide poles to allow owner to gauge how far down lift has to be in order to have clearance enough to get boat on lift.
