Boat lists when under power, help

I posted this same question on another board but I thought I would try it here also. I was in the process of water testing a 2000 Angler center console boat prior to buying. The boat sat level in the water but when under power it lists to the left. The list is very noticeable. The boat does not have a T-top, all weight was evenly distributed, it still listed no matter the wind direction. When under full power (115 hp) I did let go of the wheel and the boat ran straight but as I said listed very noticeably to the left. Any thoughts as to why? I don't want to buy a boat if I have to lean to the right while riding, or could this be a simple fix?

2beach,

Most likely, you are experiencing prop. torque. Not much you can do about it except balancing with trim tabs.

I doubt there is anything wrong with the hull since it sits level at rest.

wouldn't prop rotation push him to the right normally? if the engine isn't mounted in
the center of transom could that cause this?
somethings wrong if the boat is really leaning
hard to the left.... water in the hull?

Perhaps there is water in the hull.

I agree with djohns. Trim tabs will help correct the problem.

Not sure I'd want to walk into that deal.

With a center console the engine should be right of center to countereffect the torque. That is why we in conventional boats do not notice it. Our weight on the right side gives a counterweight to the torque.
