I have a Blue 2012 Ford SVT Raptor with the bed decals.

My 98 Sea Ray is also mostly Blue. I was thinking of painting the trailer black, getting similar rims, then getting a wrap so the boat resembles the truck...What is the general consensus of that? Max Cool Factor Wow factor going down the highway? or "Wow that guy is a Max Douchebag"

you will certainly get noticed, if that is what you are after . . .

It's your choice on how you empty the wallet to say "hey look at me"......... :D

The boat should be spending minimal time on the trailer and more time floating....... unless you intend to anchor at the ramp.

She is a trailer Queen. :( She spends 2 hours on the highway round trip minimum no matter what lake I choose. Most guys up here go with the, straight through hull exhaust and 4 12" Subs to get noticed....
I live in 'lookit me' central. A small, oil and gas based town in Northern Alberta...I'm still on the fence about the matching thing

Similar to that....

Hmmmmm. I wonder what it would take to make a truck look like a Boston Whaler. :p

PS94, it's your money, do what you want. The fact that you are asking the question tells me that you already know the answer (it's the feminie hygeine product) that most reasonable people will give.

In my humble opinion, the color of the truck and boat matching is all the farther you need to go. No stickers and painted trailer necessary. But that's just me. When my dad had a Blue SeaRay 268 (a lot of blue!) behind his Green and Silver Suburban, it didn't look as good as his (mostly white) green accent striped Chaparral 300.
My light Beige Chaparral looked just fine behind my off-white Chevy van, for the 7 miles I towed it to the slip, once a summer! ;)

Just as long as you actually use your boat, that's the key.

I like the idea. Tried matching my cover with the truck color but the sun didn't like the idea. Faded fast.

Nice truck btw. I bet with that 6.2 you could yank the decals right off the boat going down the highway.

Hopefully having two of the same socks is about how far I go when matching is concerned. Unless you are displaying colors to be identified with a team or marketing an organization, it's just bling. If bling makes you happy, then go for it. What does it matter what others think?

White paint!
:D - that's exactly what happened with mine. Had white van ... bought white boat. Viola - Matching set!

If I had a vintage boat with wings and the whole bit, and could find a matching vintage car to go with it for fun ... maybe. Otherwise, I don't think I'd do it intentionally for myself. But if ya' like it, and you wanna' put the money into it ... who cares? Have fun.

If you like it, do it. Doesn't matter what others think. Those that think their style and taste are somehow better than yours are the true douschebags.

Re: Boat matches truck? Max Cool or Douchery?

i painted the fenders and wheels of my trailer, and would like to find a 68 ford to pull my boat with, if i get one it will be painted blue and white also, that said, i also like raised white letters/ whitewalls out, on fat tall tires with 15" standard rims, and full figured women, and don't care as long as it looks cool to me and i'm happy with it :joyous: so i think you should do it if you want:) i'm thinking i need a captains hat with one of those hooks on it:eek: yep then i'll be stylin:rolleyes: if only in my mind:facepalm:

More important is actually owning a boat, rather than use dad's.
.....

Actually using someone else's boat is the way to go. Much less expensive that way. I wish I hadn't bought my boat off my dad, and had just convinced him to let me use it for 8 years! ( like I convinced my sister to let me use her boat this summer ;) )

I always though just towing mine down the road on any week days was more than enough.

Yeah with the gas gobbling 6.2L; you don't really notice the boat back there, unless you're stopping REALLY hard...my old trailer had electric brakes, this one has surge...

PS94, if its in the budget, do what makes you happy. you get trashed if you pull up to the ramp with a rusted out chevy s-10 and a beat up tinny, you get equally trashed if you pull up with a blinged out rig. do what makes you happy and dont worry bout the group that has nothing better to do than talk about someone else. jmo
