Can anyone give me any idea what a 2001 Mirrocraft Model MV648DLX,16 ft. jon boat,2001 Mercury 25 H.P.,4 stroke, model 25ELH 4 stroke Big Foot engine and a Yacht Club trailer is worth?<br />Any,and all help would be greatly appreciated.
I have bought this outfit & I have a problem I'm not sure how to fix. The previous owner lived right along the river & left this boat & motor in the water all summer. The problem is he left the motor hang down in the water all of the time & now it has alot of corrosion on the lower unit & prop. It is so bad that it has eaten some of the paint off of the lower unit & even looks like it has started to eat into the metal. How do I go about fixing this? Should I get like some body putty & fill this spots that look like the metal has been eaten away & then paint? Also how can I get this corrosion off of the stainless steel prop & get it to shine ? My biggest concern is damage it has done to the metal & paint on the lower unit. This is a 2001 motor & I would like to get it looking better. Any & all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank all of you who responded to my request concerning the value of this outfit. Glenn
Hi Glenn, It is best to start a new topic, with a title like "Repairing Corroded Lower Unit", or something like that. It will get the attention of the people that have knowledge in this area of repair.
