boat operating age in washington state.

does anyone know the age you have to be to operate a 14' boat in washington state in lakes and the puget sound. and i just bought a mercury engine and it hasnt beeen ran for 2 years what should i do?

Wa. operating age,=Min age,none;Adult req,no;PWC,14Yr, Adult req.while a minor operates,no.Recommend call local USCG office.

Hey Snow,<br />You didn't say what size engine you bought but the following applies to most all.......<br />Change the lower unit lube. Check for metal particulate. Replace the water pump impeller. Clean the carb(s). Drain & properly dispose of old fuel. Refill with fresh 87 octane fuel pre-mixed with 50:1 premium outboard oil (TC-W3). Remove spark plugs, spray a small amount of WD-40 into each cylinder, hand rotate (Clockwise) flywheel a few turns. Reinstall properly gapped plugs. Should be ready to go. <br />Backlash
