I just bought a 65 lund 16 tiller in great shape BUT the owner painted it camo green YUK! I am going use a mild stipper from home depot and get all the paint off. My question is this what is the red called on the top half of the boat? Lund red?
and I want to paint the inside of the boat what is a good paint to use? I have a gun and and compressor. oil based, single stage urithane or what? Should I primer the boat or just tape off and shoot? Thanks again! :D

If it's aluminum be sure to use the right primer/paint. But unless you are restoring it, just paint on top of what you have. That old paint may be sealing your rivets and splits

Re: boat paint ?

all right 1 more question the WHOLE top side of the boat is this puke green how do I get this off with out wrecking the aluminum? I just want to paint the top half of the boat red like from the factory. and leave the bottom half aluminum like from factory. Or is this a huge process?

Depends what paint he used, if ti is a latex house paint you will almost have to strip it but if it is actual paint you can just scuff it up and paint over it.

I would try to sand some of it and see what happens, it may just ball up or it could sand pretty well.
