I am needing to put some pinstriping on my boat, and was wondering if the automotive pinstriping willl work alright, or should I use something else? Thanks

Re: Boat pinstripe question.

You should be fine with any vinyl striping that is UV stable. You probably want a 5 or 7 year vinyl.

I'm using some red pinstriping I got from one of the big boat stores. It's expensive stuff, and it's held up well.

Automotive pinstripe will work fine but it will be small for a boat.Boat stripes are usually an inch or wider.I got some very high quality stripes on ebay.Charlie

Re: Boat pinstripe question.

crazy charlie has a good point about the wide pinstriping available in marine. Another thing to keep in mind is if you're going to stripe any curves. I used 1/2" (I think it's 1/2" - I'll have to double check) for my red striping. Anything larger than that would be difficult to curve.

The red stuff is the marine striping. The black letter is cheap 3 year vinyl. I have my own vinyl cutter so I can make my own stickers, numbers, and graphics now. :D
