hello all
I have a 1990 bayliner 1700ls with a force 50hp. This is my first boat and it was my first time out. I was happy with everything except when i went to full throttle and the boat planed out it would pull hard to one side or the other and the boat would lean way to the side the boat pulled to. so we were riding with one side way low to the water and the other was up in the air. i dont think it was a weight issuse because it would pull/ tilt to different sides randomly. any ideas or help? thanks evereyone

Sounds as if you may have water in the hull, below the deck. Shifting weight like that could do what you say as the water moves to the lowest spot, be it port or starboard.

Sounds like your trim tab is missing on the bottom of your motor.

A LOT of water rolling around can make a difference, can get "stuck" in different compartments under the flooring. How long did it take to drain all the water out? 1 minute? 5 minutes?
(I hope you have a bilge pump )

Does your boat have an add-on foil/fin mounted on the motor?

Do you have and use power trim?

it was like 3 or 4 min i think. I have a portable pump that came with the boat when i bought it. might have to put it in. any ideas where to put it without cutting holes? it does have a fin addon think that can cause my proplem?

You have muliple problems it seems.

3 or 4 minutes sounds like a lot of water. You need to figure out where it is coming from. That much after a while on the water can make a small boat pitch around funny. Not to mention it getting into places and things it can do damage to. And there is that sinking thing too.

The fin addon can affect a boat adversely. The lift they provide is applied only to the middle of the boat, and if they keep on lifting at speed then the boat has to "fall" to one side or the other. Turning at speed with one can also be an adventure.
