Boat pulls hard to the right

I purchased a 185 Pro Master with a 125 Merc. Noticed that the boat pulls to the right. Tried adjusting the trim in different locations and the skeg on the cavitation plate. Still having no luck. I'm looking for ideas on how to fix my problem.

I not an expert but have a couple of Queations. One is motor mounted low enough that both top and bottom of prop are covered in water?? Does it pull the same at all trim angels?? Any thing on the hull to cause more drag on one side?? Does it pull before get on plane, just after reaching clean plane, and at full throddle??? I assume you are talking about when the boat is up on plane. Adjusting the motors skeg is the normal answer for high speed. Some radical props can create this type of problem but adjusting the skeg should still make a big difference. Not 100% sure you are talking about an outboard, but outboard that are mounted real high trying to get most speed sometimes have your type problem. If it is a inboard power stearing pump possible. I know not much help but trying to give you some ideas and info to get to report back and someone will be able to help you.

Reply to Boatist.<br />The engine is an outboard and pulls both on plane and off and at all trim angles . The engine is mounted on the top holes on the transom braket meaning it can not be lowered any more. The transom does have a small degree of dead rise. I'm not sure how this comes into play?

Take a real close look at the skeg...the lowest part of the drive unit, not the adjustable trim fin. I suspect that it might be bent. If it is, it can be straightend by using a very heavy metal item to back it up while you tap it back to straight. Do not hit it without the backup piece..it will break. Also look closely at the cavitation plate to be sure one side is not out of level with the other.
