I know this has been ask before, but was wondering the best way to get a registration to a boat if all you have is a Bill of Sale.<br />Thanks in advance.
here in maryland, that is all you need. dnr may look up the history to be sure the seller was the last person to register it, but not a big deal. i've registered a few boats in maryland bought both in maryland and in new jersey without the registration.
Maybe they actually make it easier, because the local (city/county) law inforcement should be capable to decide the relibility of the person, and that it may or may not be a legitamate deal. I know, that our local law enforcement would not doubt most of the residents of our county, but they know who would need closer investigation, on the legitamacy of a bill of sale, and to determine proper ownership, where as state authorities would know nothing, other than what the documents say, and they could be fake (at least in the new computer/printer/scanner age.
