I need your opinions. I have two of the Wise boat seats. I did not like the idea of pedestals on my floor. People between 200lbs and 250lbs will be sitting in them so I did not want to take the safety risk of it pulling out and someone getting hurt.

What do you all think about a box in the link and reinforcing the underside with some ply? I would be filletting and tabbing it to the floor.

Isn't it kinda low?

A box is a box. If you can do the reinforcing and fiberglassing on the 'step', seems you could just make your own and add storage space at the same time.

The pedestals I initially bought were 13 inches high. Guess I am being lazy and want to get on the water sooner. I completely redid the front of my bow with seating and storage.

I guess I could just cut some ply, epoxy it glass it to the floor. Do I have to add mat to the epoxy if I am just waterproofing it?

Yup exactly what I was looking for and my idea. Would save me some fiberglass work and with the price of epoxy I would come out almost even.
