Re: Boat Trailers
Check out that manly looking (is that an 80s F150?) pulling that massive boat! That is awesome!
Ahhh,.. Nope,.... It's a 96 F-250 Diesel......
I too was raised in a Chevy truck,....
But,....
For a good many years Chevy just couldn't get it Right with their Diesels,....
That's the 1,+ Only reason I became a Ford Truck guy......
I still know my way around a SBC,+ have little or No clues on which bolt to turn on a Ford motor.......
Bear in mind,..... My truck is powered by an Ole Cornbinder.......Not Ford.....
The Houseboat is estimated at about 4 tons,.. The Trailer is a fly-weight, Maybe 1000/ 1500lbs....A Ton Tops... Homebuilt in my driveway about a year ago,....
Coming Out of the launch was Interesting to say the least,.... I had a Backhoe on standby if needed,+ it Almost was,.... At 1 point I had 3 tires Chirping slightly trying to clear the last little Hump,...4x4, Low of course,... But I just backed down a couple feet,+ came out just alittle quicker to hop over the bump......
'course,... It didn't Help at all that the water was Over 3' Low when I was doing it......Lot'sa Soap on the bunks was the only way to get the boat onto the trailer......That,+ doubling the line from the winch to a snatch-block,... My neighbor Tom thought his arms were going to Fall Off before we finally got her Home......
By next year,.... I Guarantee there'll be an Electric Winch on the trailer...........
