boat wanders at low speed (2nd question)

Thanks for your response. I was wondering if I could expand on the "rudder skeg bolt on" suggested by Ross. My boat has a swim platform that runs the full width of the transom. Can I fabricate a rudder that extends out from the swim platform and over the drive unit. I can make it extend down as far as the current skeg. I can also make it adjustable if necessary.I envision making the rudder 12" in depth with 3/4" marine plywood and bolting the whole assembly securely to the swim platform.Since the boat is always in the water I can remove it when necessary.Thanks.

Davjar,<br /><br />As I mentioned, I haven't tried Ross' idea. However, SOME boats respond well to trim tabs. They would also be helpful for other uses too.
