Boat wax for a car

Would boat wax work well on a car? Would it work any better than car wax or just the same? I figure this stuff is taking the beating of water all the time, so it might work...

whatever wax you use frequently will work the best...they all wash and wear off quickly

carnuba wax would be the best choice either mothers or anything else, but carnuba.

Be very carefull about using a boat wax on a clearcoat finish, they normally have much more aggresive compounds that can an likely will scratch your finish. Unless its a polish and not a cleaner. Use some in an inconspicuous spot first.
