Need Help??? Not sure what is going on but just took out boat for first time this year and it goes forward and reverse just fine, but once I hit the throttle the RPM's shoot up and sounds like the prop is just spinning and we don't get the boat to plane. I also tried to slowly edge up throttle and same thing happens once I hit the magic number of 2,000 RPM's. The boat runs great as long as I don't go above 2,000 RPM's. Last year before I winterized it took it out many times and no problems, any help or suggestions please.......Thanks

If your prop has a replaceable hub, replace it.

If it has a pressed in hub, have a prop shop replace it.

If you have a spare prop...throw it on and see if your problem goes away. Probably a spun hub.
