boat wont turn over??

Hi guys, i have a 1988 sunrunner with an aq271 volvo penta setup with a 290 volvo duoprop my question is when i was putting my boat on the trailer at the ramp i gave it some gas and brought the throttle back to neutral but as soon as i did that the boat died and wouldnt start again what gives? it wont even turn over, or even click theres no starter noise any help would be appreciated thanks!!!

This may sound silly, but have you made sure the boat is in neutral? It sounds like your neutral saftey switch is engaged.

I had this happen to me once before and feared the worse but all i did was move the control to forward and reverse and pack to nuetral and all was good after that. Just make sure you have it in the nuetral position and if that doesnt work then you might want to check the nuetral safety switch.
