I've seen people posting ads on Craig's list trying to charge in excess of 100 bucks to help people get their boaters card when you can study and take the test on line for free, so I posted the following ad:
"About that boaters safety exam, regardless of what others have said, you can take the test for free, it's accredited by the Oregon and Washington state marine boards. All the study material is on the same web page, simple, and easy to do, for never owning a boat before, and not knowing a thing about boating in general, I was able to study the materials and take the test from my own computer in about an hour and a half, once you pass, print up two copies of the temporary certificate, save one for your self, and mail the other one to the marine board of the state you live in, along with 10 bucks, before you know it, you will have your boaters card that's good for life, can't beat a deal like that. And you actually get a chance to learn something in the process by studying the material
here's the test for washington
pwcsafetyschool/washington
and here's the test for Oregon
pwcsafetyschool/oregon
now if I could just find a cheap 12 foot aluminum boat to go explore the rivers and lakes with, I'd be one happy boater."
now check out this responce I got in my e-mail:
"How relevant is trailer law (that's the realm of the motor vehicle code) and further what the h*** does a jet ski have to do with boating, As a USCG licensed Captain with 100 ton license I know that some of the answers on your sacred test are just plain wrong, and others are flawed, I sure hope you have an ulterior motive for pontificating such malarky!!!!"
I want to answer this guy back, I'm just not sure what to say, got any ideas?
