Looks like in his add he says it's a Chrysler; might be able to Google that and see what you find. I think I've seen one or two on here too.

Bumpkin,
So interesting reading about the sale of your powerboat.

Suggestion,

If you want to go boating when ever you please, relax, have no worries about engine reliability, or trailering far away: buy a nice new setup.

If you want a hobby that; costs money every month, requires work before and after you go boating, and causes you anxious or perhaps fearful moments on the water: buy an old boat motor and trailer.

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I'm looking more for an old boat, reliable trailer, reliable (new) motor.

I thought Pam C's boat was pretty cool:

and remember my Granpa's boat he had on the UP. Kinda like putting a new engine in a '65 mustang. Alot of boaters here have similar project boats that they have restored beautifuly and I'm sure are very reliable.

BTW welcome to iboats.

Not quite. I have restored 5 boats, not spend a grand in any of them and they combined had supply over 12 years of fun with the regular maintenance. then sell it go get another project. After done with the projects the biggest repair I had to do was to replace the switch on my current motor. I had to do that cuz I short it myself. As far as hulls, a floor replacement, less than $400.00 and have been working fine since I did, 3 years ago.

Just be sure what you are getting into, check the biggest problems and count pennies. Start by fixing the motor, then move on. Know when to stop and count your losses.

Good luck!
