:confused:My 1992 Yamaha 115 TLRQ v-4 stalls or bogs down on acceleration. I have to continue to hit the electric choke in order to get the engine to accelerate. I have replaced the plugs, filters and primer bubble with no improvement. I would appreciate any ideas. Thank you.

Re: Bogging down

Clean the carbs.

That's the most likely solution.

Can you get it running at high speeds and if so how does it act? or is it just in accelerating to get there?

Second most likely problem: Air-leak in fuel line. One test is to listen while pumping the ball.

Can you hok up a remote tank directly to the motor, to see if it's inside the cowl (back to carbs) or upstream?

Others:
pliers-tighten the ground on the battery (not likely your issue, though, but always good practice)
clogged tank vent (not as likely)
clogged fuel pick-up
fuel pump (does squeezing the bulb while it stalls help?)

Re: Bogging down

Is it a 2 cycle? If so does it have reed valves? If so, they may have broken, they aid in transition from idle to full throttle.

It runs good and maintains high speed, just bogs down continually getting up to app. 17 mph.
